Meet the Team
The experienced professionals behind Cornwall's specialist subsidence repair service.
Behind every successful subsidence repair is a team of specialists who understand both the technical challenges and the human impact of ground movement on property owners. Our team combines deep expertise in ground engineering, structural repair, and insurance claim management with genuine compassion for the stress that subsidence causes.
Based in St Austell at the heart of Cornwall, our team members bring decades of combined experience working specifically with Cornwall's unique geology and building traditions. From the granite moorlands of Bodmin to the coastal cliffs of Newquay, from the mining country around Camborne and Redruth to the river valleys of Truro, we've investigated and repaired subsidence in every corner of the county.
Each team member brings specialist skills that complement the others, creating a comprehensive service that covers everything from initial investigation through to completed repair and final decoration. When you work with us, you benefit from the combined knowledge and experience of the entire team, regardless of which individual manages your project.
James Trevelyan
Managing Director
With over 15 years in ground engineering and subsidence repair, James leads our Cornwall operations and oversees all major projects across the county. His background in civil engineering and deep understanding of Cornwall's mining geology means he's often the first person clients speak to when complex ground conditions are involved. James has personally managed over 300 subsidence investigations across Cornwall, from Bude in the north to the Lizard in the south.
Sarah Penrose
Senior Structural Specialist
Sarah brings extensive experience in structural masonry repairs and has worked on hundreds of subsidence-affected properties throughout Cornwall. Her particular expertise lies in traditional Cornish construction — granite rubble walls, lime mortar pointing, and the structural quirks of period properties. Sarah understands how Cornwall's historic buildings respond to ground movement and designs repairs that respect their character while restoring structural integrity.
Tom Carthew
Ground Engineering Lead
Tom specialises in resin injection and underpinning techniques, with particular expertise in treating mining-related subsidence in the Camborne-Redruth area and china clay subsidence around St Austell. His technical knowledge of geopolymer resins and ground improvement methods is complemented by years of practical field experience. Tom oversees all ground treatment operations and ensures every installation meets exacting quality standards.
Emma Tresidder
Insurance Claims Manager
Emma manages our clients' insurance claims, bringing years of experience working with loss adjusters, structural engineers, and insurers across Cornwall. She understands the claims process inside out and acts as a tireless advocate for our clients, ensuring repair scopes are adequate, timelines are maintained, and outcomes are fair. Emma's involvement often means faster claim resolution and better results for homeowners.
How Our Team Works Together
Subsidence repair isn't a one-person job. It requires the integration of several specialist disciplines — ground investigation, structural engineering, construction management, and insurance liaison. Our team structure reflects this reality, with each member contributing their specific expertise at the appropriate stage of the project.
When you contact us, your enquiry is reviewed by the most appropriate team member based on your situation. If you're dealing with a new insurance claim, Emma will guide you through the initial steps. If the problem appears to involve ground instability, Tom will arrange the investigation. If structural damage is the primary concern, Sarah will assess the masonry. And James oversees the entire process, ensuring quality and coordination throughout.
This collaborative approach means you get the benefit of multiple specialist perspectives without the hassle of coordinating multiple contractors yourself. One team, one point of contact, one complete solution for your subsidence problem.
